Can you believe it's already November? This week is flying by! I'm very excited to be traveling this weekend to see some family, attend a wedding, and celebrate my birthday in just a few days!! :)
I started Sunday off by meeting a friend for lunch. I probably should have been working on my paper so I didn't have to spend 6 hours on it on Monday, but sometimes you're just not in the mood! We went to the Gasthaus which specializes in burgers but of course I found nachos to order.
Our food was followed by a trip to Walgreen's. I managed to only buy the items I went there for! A small peeve of mine is that every time I go there to buy goldfish crackers they're sold out of the extreme cheddar kind! I know those aren't very healthy but they're definitely my favorite!
On our walk around town we came across this lovely garden/patio. I love fall colors!
On Tuesday I went to the gym for a super workout. I'm not going to be able to officially work out very often for the rest of this week because I'll be traveling, so I tried to compensate. Here's what I did:
4 x 15 leg extensions 4 x 15 leg curls 4 x 20 wide leg press 4 x 15 narrow leg press 4 x 15 plie squat press
4 x 15 side lateral raises 4 x 15 dumbbell lifts 4 x 15 tricep dips 4 x 15 incline press 5 x 15 incline press
Nature is beautiful. I'm so happy my campus is scenic!
After working out I had to get down to business. I had lots of homework and a caffeine headache to deal with. I ran out of sweetener for my coffee so went without for the morning. Oof. Also on a trip to the health center I found out that I'm very dehydrated, mostly due to my coffee consumption! I'm going to have to try and cut back now...
I did end up getting a coffee from a local coffee shop, but it was too late to stop the headache. XD
Student discount: a carton of strawberries for $2? Yes please!!
Today I studied a lot of anatomy and physiology. I love that class but it's super intense! We're learning about nerves right now and they're super fascinating. In lab today we tested reflexes and saw a slices of a human brain, and next week we're dissecting sheep brains. I know it will be gross but also kind of awesome!
Every day I have my 3 hour lab I make it through knowing there's Mexican food in the cafeteria afterwards. Today they served custom quesadillas. Yum!
After lab I went to lecture and made great use of the time. I took on a drawing challenge from my boyfriend to draw a pug-lion-giraffe! Here's how it turned out:
The cafeteria in my dorm had a pirate themed celebration tonight! All the menu items were named cheesy pirate things. I thought it was awesome that they had a wide selection of different ice creams and shakes to try. I had a sundae even though I'm lactose intolerant and the stomach ache was worth it!
My friends and I talked about life and ate ice cream. At one point a man dressed as a pirate came up and juggled for us, then gave us some flyers for a pirate show! Maybe....now for the rest of the night I'm doing homework and packing for the weekend. I can't wait to see my dogs!!
It's been a beautiful start to November! :)
