Today many miles were traveled! My cousin was getting married in Sturgeon Bay this weekend so my family picked me up from Milwaukee so I could attend too.
Everyone was hungry upon reaching Milwaukee so we went out to lunch before leaving town. Guess where we went? The Cheesecake Factory! My great aunt had never been there and the rest of my family loves it so that's where we picked to go!
I love the architecture style inside :)
My mom and I shared nachos and afterwards my sister and I shared a slice of cheesecake.
Then we were on the road for about two hours. We arrived at a place called The Lodge at about 3pm. I can see why my cousin and his fiance chose it for the location of their reception. It was very pretty!
There's some sort of pumpkin festival in the fall up there so The Lodge had a garden of GIGANTIC pumpkins. They weren't even full grown yet!
Then we walked down to the Marina across the road to admire the boats and the bay.
By the time we were all settled in to our room everyone was hungry again. My mom recommended a restaurant called Woldt's Corner!
Although everyone else was ordering fish for Friday night fish fry, I decided to have a quesadilla.
I understand that in like the last four posts I've eaten a LOT of Mexican food. Most of the events I post about take place on the weekend though so I'm not constantly constantly eating it.... :P
After dinner we decided to take a trip to Target (my mother pronounces it Tar-jhay) to pick up gift wrapping supplies look around for fun. We had a great time pushing all the 'try me' buttons in the Halloween decor and looking at Halloween costumes for dogs, when all of a sudden, we found it:
It looks so creepy but is perfect because my two pups are both miniature dachshunds! The facial structure of this creepy decoration looks just like Rusty Jones!
We'll call this sculpture...Rusty Bones...
Once back at The Lodge we attended a bonfire with smore making and chat with family and friends of the wedding party. It was a good time and I got to see a lot of relatives again!
What a long and interesting day!
Hi my name is Emilee and these are my adventures as a young adult living in Milwaukee. Here I will share my experiences as I navigate through college. Thanks for stopping by!
