Painting canvas shoes is one of the projects from Pinterest that I've been wanting to try for awhile now! I bought these shoes while shopping on Amazon for pajamas for my boyfriend. At the end of my shopping I realized I could pay $8 for shipping or buy something for $8 and get free shipping. Of course I chose to buy shoes!
I found it amusing that the brand of shoes was called "Easy USA" and the shoes were made in China. Oh America...
I began by removing the shoe laces. Very basic, nothing hard yet!
Then I found some tribal print references on the internet and started drawing them onto the shoes with a pencil. I combined three different ones so my pattern was unique!
Next I mixed up some pastel colors from an array of acrylic paints and got painting.
Since I painted them in my living room, I had to privilege to watch my first ever Kentucky Derby. I've never seen one before, and I was sort of disappointed that the race only lasted a minute. It was fun to see and the colors the jockeys were wearing though!
I made a bet with my family that Ocho Ocho Ocho would win, but he didn't. Oh well.
Here's how my shoes turned out:
I went around all the painted shapes with a sharpie to make them stand out.
What do you think? I'm pretty pleased with the outcome! My first Pinterest project was a success! :)
