Living close to a lake can sometimes make it foggy. Very foggy, actually. Here is a view of my haunting but fascinating looking dorm!
Due in part to the mysterious weather outside, my suitemates and I stayed indoors most of the morning. While discussing movies it came to the attention to half of us that the other half had not seen the awful yet classic movie Airplane. We had to fix that!!
While we watched the outside world became even foggier!
Fall Welcome events did eventually persuade us to leave the dorm. There was a Hawaiian themed party preceding a volleyball game and black light party at the Union!
The Luau had Hawaiian pizza, a dress up photo station, punch, and several boards of bean bag toss. It was a cute little party and we all got free sunglasses and tropical necklaces. We also got the chance to meet some new people! After that we watched the volleyball match.
I caught a t shirt during the t shirt toss! It's a size large but I'm still happy that among the throng of people in the stands I was able to get one! It will be good for sleeping and painting in...
On our way to the black light party we noticed that the dorm looked even more foggily mysterious in the dark. The photo doesn't even capture half of it...
Even though the black light party was in the depths of union ballroom we could hear the thumpa-thumpa music the minute we walk in the front door. When we got there we received wristbands and glow sticks, making it officially party time!!
I showed off all my awkward self made up dance moves which led me to the introduction of a Korean exchange student! He thought my bulldozer dance move was an actual American dance and was copying me to fit in lol! After that we incorporated him into our dance circle and showed off more awkward dance moves! We stayed at the party until sometime after midnight.
Another fun note: at the end of the evening one of my glow sticks snapped and got neon green all over my arms and on the floor! I washed up using the drink cooler because I had no idea where a bathroom was. Fun times! (^.^)
