My friend and I started off the day by taking a trip to the Bayshore shopping mall.
The Bayshore Center is a beautiful open air mall with lots of lampposts, banners, and flower gardens.
A view of Bayshore's stage and fountain area surrounded by colorful lawn chairs...
We stopped at Barnes and Noble and I couldn't resist buying these two books. I've been missing art for awhile now and hope these will help me get back into it!
After looking through sale racks we stopped at Qdoba for the first time! I'm always craving Mexican food and hadn't had a quesadilla in ages so it tasted heavenly to me!!
In the early afternoon we headed back to campus to go to the Panther Street Festival. After the festival, buses would take us all to the Summerfest grounds to watch a performance by Hoodie Allen and Twenty One Pilots!
Free concert? Yes please! Thanks UWM!!
The first thing I did at the Street Festival was get a stamp that stated I signed a waver so I could do dangerous activities like bungee jump and human Foosball (a.k.a. kick your neighbor). Then I proceeded to not do any dangerous activities (I got to see the school chancellor bungee jump though!!).
I also designed a henna tattoo for the first time!
I partook in a lot of the free food offered by the numerous food trucks present.
Purple french fries (there are such thing as purple potatoes!)...
Nachos (from Qdoba. I'll have to go back there again soon)!
And chicken wings. The one on the bottom left was EXTREMELY spicy!!! Oh my goodness!!!!!
There were also lots of activities going on. They included characture drawings, inflatable twister, the game where you throw the ball and if it hits a target then someone gets a bucket of water dumped on his or her head, and a giant game of fish the beach ball out of the fountain and the number on the bottom says which prize box you get to pick from.
I also went to see a fortune teller. I knew she was the real deal because she had a turban with a moon on it and a big sparkly purple skull on the table next to her. She told me some very interesting things about my future......
Around 5:30pm the buses started loading! The staff performing pre-bus-loading security checks was very rude and feely but we were so excited for the concert that it didn't bother us too much. Then I got to go to the Summerfest grounds for the very first time ever!
While waiting in line for what felt like hours I snapped a few pictures of the awesome clouds.
Then it was finally concert time! The concert was super amazing and after I got back I bought a whole bunch of songs from Twenty One Pilots! Hoodie Allen was alright but the Twenty One Pilots' performance was soooooo much more interesting!
They had all sorts of digital displays during their songs and were always running around and jumping off of things. At the end of the concert the drummer had another drum set sent out for the audience to hold and then jumped on and started playing! Whoaa!!
Today was a super busy and colorful day!
Hi my name is Emilee and these are my adventures as a young adult living in Milwaukee. Here I will share my experiences as I navigate through college. Thanks for stopping by!
