This last week of school went by really fast! It was filled with many excursions to fill the time between and while waiting for finals.
Early in the week I went with my friends to Kohl's and absolutely fell in love with a sports jacket I found there. It was on sale and I had a little money from selling this semester's textbooks, so I gave it a night to think it over then went back and bought it the next day!
Power shout for being done with finals!!
This sign is posted everywhere inside the dorm in honor of finals week. I think it's a tiny bit extreme but still funny!
On Wednesday I met up with an old friend and went for sushi at the Union Station. It's as good as the last time I had it! I was wary of the quality at first but turns out it's pretty good!
Meeting my friend made me feel much more productive than Tuesday. Tuesday I watched the entire 22 episode season 1 of Raising Hope on Netflix. Oof-tah!
Then I went for coffee with another friend at a place called Fiddlehead Coffee Shop. I ordered a winter wonderland mocha and it was fantastic! Coffee always brightens my day! On the bus ride back I watched a toddler realize that the little boy waving back at him in the window was in fact himself. So adorable!
Thursday was a holiday celebration day with friends. It started out pretty low-key but in the evening we made a mini holiday party and played Christmas music and exchanged gifts around our tiny tree.
We all decided to do each other's hair. I was having a particularly crazy hair day so decided to straighten it for the first time since I got it cut way back in June! Here's the beauty:
After that we went ice skating at the Petit Center. It was all of our first times trying it and we all had a blast! I didn't fall down once!
Friday morning I had my last final and then Ryan picked me so we could celebrate our three year anniversary! Part of me can't believe it's already been so long but I've loved every minute of it! And there are still so many adventures left to be had! After reuniting he helped me carry all my bags to the car and then we were off headed for Madison.
For lunch we went to a place called Mia Za's Italian restaurant. It's a design-your-own noodle bowl/panini/pizza/salad place. We both went for noodles!
I loved the meatballs! Still craving them though!!
We also visited the UW Madison campus and went to the dairy building to get locally produced ice cream and a walk around the production plant! There was a weeping willow-type tree outside!
We also went out to a movie at a super fancy theater that had recliner seats! The movie was super amazing and I went to see it again with my family this morning: Star Wars: The Force Awakens! Afterwards we hung out for awhile more and eventually we went back to our hometown.
The house looks pretty much the same as when I last left and is full of the Christmas spirit! It feels good to be home and I'm glad for all the time I have over break to catch up and spend time with loved ones.
Cookie baking and family time ahead! Lots of recipes to come! :)
