Shoe Shopping and HuHot Mongolian grill!

8/11/2015

I wore the same pair of shoes most of senior year: lovely red canvas shoes with white polka dots. Try as they may, being purchased from Wal-Mart they weren't the best of quality and busted out at the sides and cracked in the bottom halfway through the school year. Since I was super fond of them I used shoe glue to the best of my ability and awkwardly got them to stick together until summer arrived.

However, summer is coming to a close and college is on the horizon. I needed a new pair of shoes. My boyfriend was looking for a pair as well, so after our three mile run (because exercise is important) we hopped in the car to go shoe shopping at the Shoe Box in Black Earth.

Because of my recently found love of canvas shoes I decided to invest in a pair of Converse. They're surprisingly heavy shoes due to the thick soles which give me hope that they'll last a long time. The salesperson assured me they would last for years, which I have every intention of testing.

I chose bright blue :)

They're so pretty and I hope they last! My boyfriend got a pair of Converse as well in a tan color.

After making a large investment in shoes we decided to go to Madison for lunch. We hadn't been to HuHot Mongolian Grill in a long time, so chose that as our place to be! We got very lost trying to find it because the GPS wouldn't connect so we just drove all over until we finally found it!

HuHot is a noodle bar. There are three stations and a giant grill. You take a bowl at the first station and fill it with your choice of meats, seafood, and noodles, then top it off with whatever selection of the billions of veggies at the second bar. The third one holds all different kinds of sauces. When you're happy with your choices you take it to the grill and they cook it right in front of you! Very awesome!

Gigantic grill! I think my noodles are the furthest to the right.

First plates of noodles! In mine I put rice noodles, tofu, Chinese sausage, mushrooms, corn,  broccoli, mandarin oranges, and cilantro. It was very yummy!

To avoid eating way too many calories I put lots of veggies and spicy sauce in my second bowl.

Despite trying to spice myself out of eating all the second plate I still managed to eat every last bit of it! My nose was running and my eyes were watery but I still ate it all! Silly self, wanting all the noodles!

Then, to top off the meal, we shared a lava brownie with a side of ice cream. It was soooooo good!

New kicks and noodles! What a colorful day! :)
