Last week seemed to fly by! I was glad for it though since I was looking forward to going home during Thanksgiving.
One of the first things I did Monday morning was register for spring semester classes!! I can't believe my Freshman year of college is almost half over already! After registering I met with my adviser to make a long term academic plan. Woot! If everything goes according to plan I'll be out in 4 years!
After that I decided to crack open a jar of Nutella for the first time! It was pretty yummy, but did not taste at all how I expected.
Monday night my friend and I went to a planetarium for a presentation on constellations, planets, and black holes. It was super fascinating!
Early Tuesday morning was an unpleasant time. At 2:34am we were woken up by the fire alarm. Angry, my roommate and I groggily walked out of our room to discover the fire had started on our floor!! There was gray/black smoke everywhere! Oh snap!!
Apparently someone decided to cook a microwave macaroni and cheese cup without putting water in it. Great. So we had to stand outside in the freezing rain for half an hour before it was all cleared. Here's what our microwave looked like. It had to be replaced.
The rest of Tuesday went by without a hitch, however. In my lab class we dissected sheep eyes. It was a little gross but very interesting at the same time! Behind the retina they have a luminescent blue layer that allows them to see easily in the dark! It was almost pretty but I'm not going to post the photos on here just in case others don't agree! :P
I also had the first ramen of my college career!
Thursday I got to go see the last Hunger Games movie for free!! The school paid for our tickets, bused us to the theater, and gave us free popcorn. It was fantastic!
The movie was pretty good too. I didn't think there was a whole lot of action however and it was definitely my least favorite movie of them all!
My Friday was super quiet. I went and saw a professor then worked on homework for the majority of the day. Things didn't pick up until evening when I met a friend for dinner. The cafeteria had fish tacos and some sort of fried food balls on the side. They were really good!
Then watched romantic comedies late into the night! We saw some pretty terrible ones but stuck it through because the acting was laugh-worthy! Friday night it also snowed!! I don't like snow before December, but it still felt magical!
My mom sent me these photos of the dogs going into the snow for the first time. Monroe had WAAAYY more snow then Milwaukee!
Sunday some friends and I went out for a snowy adventure! We went to the mall, grabbed coffee, and walked downtown to see the chandelier lights!
It was a wonderful week- lots of exciting things happened during the school week and the weekend, and, despite the snow, it was a great time! On to Thanksgiving!
Hi my name is Emilee and I am a kinesiology undergraduate student. These are my adventures as a young adult living in Milwaukee. Here I will share my experiences as I navigate through college. Thanks for stopping by!
