Saturday Recap: Because Saturday was so busy I did not get to take any pictures. Ryan and I also spent lots of time in a kayak, which isn't the ideal location for digital devices! We went to the Wisconsin Yellowstone Park to kayak, attempt tanning, and eat ice cream. The lake was quiet except for the occasional motor boat, which rocked our little kayak back and forth. Ryan tanned perfectly while all I managed to do was freckle my legs (lol to pale skin)! Afterwards we got ice cream, ate it in the car, then went back to get more!
After getting back to town we went to get actual food. We went to a new Mexican restaurant on the square and shared a mushroom and cheese quesadilla. We deemed it so-so, then grabbed a box of cookies for the road. Then we walked all over town and took pictures of cool landscaping in other people's yards.
It was a very quiet but quaint day. I spent many hours of it on the porch, reading "The Happiness Project". As I get further and further through the book, I become more and more inspired to start my own happiness project!
I'm making plans to start a mini one to do over the summer months before college.
After all the rain from the week before, the clear weekend was much appreciated. The view from the porch was great :)
Super vogue shot of the bench my dad built for my mom a few Mother's Days ago. Painted by yours truly, along with the help of my sister (it was also her birthday)!
Awesome-sauce cloudy sky.
I was elected to wrap all my sister's birthday presents. Since I wanted them to look well done, I used lots of tape. She had great difficulty opening them!
To celebrate we went to an Italian restaurant in Freeport called Cimino's. I got to be very adult-like and call in the reservation! I got a chance to dress up for the first time in ages.
The best part of the day was that my sister enjoyed her birthday! When we got back from the restaurant we ate rainbow cake and sang happy birthday. It's an important one because now she's 16! Kids grow up so fast...
To end the evening my boyfriend and I walked down to the gas station to get slushies (as if I hadn't eaten enough earlier). He had one a few days back and thought they were the bomb. I had to agree! We got to chose our flavors and colorings! I couldn't remember the last time I'd had a slushie!
Today was quiet but still full of adventure! I enjoyed great food (sorry no photos) and got to spend time with all my loved ones. Happy Memorial Day! :)
Hi my name is Emilee and these are my adventures as a young adult living in Milwaukee. Here I will share my experiences as I navigate through college. Thanks for stopping by!
