Happy Mother's Day to any mothers out there! I got my mother a digital scrapbook and put a flower into one of my raku fired pottery pieces from ceramics class. I also made her a card.
I fed the dogs this morning so my parents could sleep in. They didn't seem to like their dry food so I tried to get them to eat it by mixing in Cheerios. The silly creatures just took piles of food, spat in on the floor, then ate the cheerios out!
Once everyone was up I my dad made mom's favorite breakfast: eggs benedict!
After breakfast I did laundry. While putting away my clean clothes I had a small dilemma. When I tried to put my socks away the drawer wouldn't shut! I took out all my socks and got this pile. I had to sort out all the old ones so my drawer could fit!
A couple hours later we took my mom flower shopping at a local flower shop! She ended up getting a bunch of perennials to put along the fence on the side of our house.
We didn't get any trees, but I thought these looked pretty awesome! If I had my own yard I'd plant them all over the place!
When we got home I took a shower and did some more tidying up around my room. Then my sister and I went to shop some sales. I found a blue ombre button down and a pair of pink ombre shoes and purple lace shoes! I got them all on sale for about $25!
This evening I had a long discussion with my mom about house projects and life events while preparing for dinner. We started composting again so all of our scraps went into a pile at the back of our garden.
Since it was a special day, after dinner we got blizzards from Dairy Queen. The rest of the evening was spent watching The Big Bang Theory and eating ice cream. It was a successful day!
