We turned on the tunes, and before we knew it we were in Oshkosh! We met up with my aunt and uncle and decided to go to Olive Garden for lunch. Since I didn't want to eat a bajillion calories I ordered tilapia and shrimp with wine sauce and boiled broccoli. There was a reason it was only 320 calories...never again! I haven't had much luck with Olive Garden lately! At least my last couple meals have come with salad, which is yummy!!
After lunch my uncle parted from our group to head back up north while we females took an hour to shop at the outlet center.
A large portion of today was spent in the car, but the end destination was worth the time! My mom, sister, and I packed our bags and were in the car at 8am to drive to Oshkosh to pick up my aunt. After that we headed to Milwaukee because I had student orientation the next day! I kicked off my shoes and got comfortable!
On the way up we stopped at a Starbucks to wake up our brains. I got a hazelnut latte and an egg white sandwich with turkey bacon. Yummy!
When that was all said and done we got back in the car and drove down to Milwaukee! We checked into our hotel. My mother booked us in a Hilton because it was a special occasion! Once there we were informed there was also a fireman convention going on. The staff apologized if it seemed teeming with people, but my mother and aunt giggled that they didn't mind the view. Yee gods ladies!
After taking some time to settle in we went exploring. Gosh is Milwaukee beautiful!! I'm looking forward to moving here in the fall! :)
We walked along the downtown area until we reached the Riverwalk.
Here it is! :)
We were hungry by the time we reached the Riverwalk, which was all fine and dandy because partway down the Riverwalk is home to a series of restaurants. We chose to go the the Milwaukee Ale House.
My mother and I decided to share an order of nachos. We let the waiter convince us to add beer cheese on top, which turned out to be super yummy! We ended up eating almost the entire plate!
After dinner we meandered back to our hotel.
It was getting to be to dark to be out and about exploring, so we looked around inside the hotel. We visited the gift shop, located the coffee area and fitness room, then spent the evening relaxing after a long but amazing day.
