I worked at the library for most of the day so I started it off with a visit to Kwik Trip to get some more blueberry muffin coffee and a bag of pistachios to keep me going until lunch.
While returning books to where they belonged, I came across this mystery series. It's about a large woman who solves mysteries. I really wanted to read it, but the first book in the series was checked out! I added it to my "to read" list, which currently has about seven books and three series on it. But first I still need to finish the 28 items I currently have checked out...
When lunch time for the librarians finally rolled around I was nearly finished with shelving. Once the children's room librarian left for lunch I took her place. It took me about four minutes to finish putting away the books for upstairs., then I went looking for a book to read.
I chose one from one of my favorite series from when I was little: The Amazing Days of Abby Hayes! Reading it again made me really happy. Since I couldn't sit at the children's desk all day, I checked a couple out!
I also discovered that the theme for the summer reading program this year is superheroes! What gave it away?
I was released for lunch around 1pm. The weather outside was wonderful! If I wasn't working I'd have loved to be out enjoying the sunshine we got instead of rain.
I went to the Garden Deli to grab some lunch. I got a sprout and mushroom sandwich and loaded baked potato soup. I went to eat and hang out at my mother's art studio.
Here's a view of what one side of her gallery looks like! It's so colorful!!
I went back to work at 2pm. By the end of the day I had everything put away. My coworker stopped in for the purpose of "bothering" me because I told him if he didn't pick up his season eight of Doctor Who I was going to steal it from him! In the end there was no bothering, and we flipped through an awesome no-word children's book called Bow-Wow's Nightmare Neighbors. It's so cute!
When I got home I found a letter from the housing department of UW Milwaukee with a packing list! I already have some of the items but will need to do a lot of shopping later this summer.
Funny thing about the sheet: it starred a DVD player as very important, but not a TV which would be needed to use it!
My white dress for graduation also arrived in the mail! I tried it on and it fit perfectly! I don't have a photo of me wearing it because the dress was folded for shipping and needs to be ironed. It looks great though and I was able to get it on sale!
My family brought the evening to a close by grilling hamburgers, trying "wasabi and kimchi" flavored potato chips (not bad, but be prepared for bad breath!), and watching The Big Bang Theory on DVD.
Today was very colorful and spent in good company!!
Hi my name is Emilee and these are my adventures as a young adult living in Milwaukee. Here I will share my experiences as I navigate through college. Thanks for stopping by!
