We have officially begun our two weeks of finals! Life is crazy as everyone is studying and stressing about all the exams and final projects that are wrapping up within the next couple weeks. Exams started on Wednesday and go all the way until December 23! Thankfully none of mine are that far away because I'm pretty sure I'd go crazy with nothing to do for a week and a half waiting for my last final! Luckily mine all wrap up early and I can head home for break sometime next week.
Anyway, life before finals was very nice. Life is still nice, but I have less time to take photos and blog about my college life! Here is life from before finals until now!
First off, last Wednesday we had a tiny bit of snow! It all melted right away because it's been strangely warm for December lately. Yesterday it was 53 degrees! Holy smokes!
That same day I had two surprises while going about my normal business. First I noticed the company that produces the bathroom stalls in one of the building on campus is called "Hiny Hiders" which struck me as very funny! Second I found a strange little note tapped to the inside of my mailbox. I'm wondering it a worker put it in there or if someone knows my combo somehow! Either way the note was a nice reminder, especially with finals on the horizon!
I also made a new discovery that completely changes my opinions of oatmeal: adding a scoop of trail mix is life changing!! I always thought oatmeal was boring but trail mix makes it so much better! It's healthy and low calorie.
My roommate got everyone in my suite stockings to put up on our suite door to make it look more festive! Everyone's getting into the Christmas spirit! I also think everyone is ready for winter break...
In my leisure class we're watching group presentations. One group brought in seaweed! I tried it but it was just as terrible in my opinion as the last time I tried it!
Thursday night we attended a friend's dance performance. The dances were all very modern and interpretive and I'm not really sure I understood any of them! It was still a good time though.
On Friday night my friend and I had nothing better to do, so we took a late night trip to Walgreen's to go Christmas shopping. I only ended up buying one thing...this bucket of "soft puffs". I couldn't resist!! Then we watched a movie called Love Actually. There were so many story lines that it was a little hard to follow, but it had a lot of big actors and ended up being kind of cute!
Miniature bagels are another wonderful food to top with trail mix!
Saturday my friend and I did more Christmas shopping at Bayshore. We went to a smoothie place that had really interesting cup lids!
Poor Mr. Giraffe...
I discovered this really interesting looking board/card game. Apparently it's really popular in Japan!
We ate at Potbelly's. I've never been there before. They serve really amazing hot sandwiches!
I love giant Christmas trees!
Sunday after church my friend and I went to a wonderful place called Roast Coffee Company. One thing I love about Milwaukee is that there a sooooo many awesome coffee shops!
The rest of the day I was in the mood for making cards! I felt inspired after making a Skyrim-themed birthday card for my dad,
followed by Christmas cards for family and friends!
Yesterday I was able to finally finish up all my Christmas shopping!
I didn't have enough money to buy wrapping paper for presents, so I tore pages out of an old book that I brought with me a taped the pages together to make wrapping paper! I think it turned out really cool!
I'm particularly excited for my dad to open this one!!
Here's my cute little Doctor Who pop figurine to leave you all with! I think I should find him a Christmas hat or something. I'll keep my eyes open this weekend!
Have a good one!
