Quite a few things happened during my week away from technology!
Early on in the week my boyfriend and I made super-duper fat pancakes! Check out how humongous they were!! One was almost an inch thick! Holy ka-doly!! :D
Buzz and Rusty begged and begged....and I gave in! Why must they be so cute??
After breakfast we went and walked dogs at the Humane Society. The building was remodeled a few years ago and is so much nicer than the old one! There weren't too many dogs available for us to walk, which is awesome for the pups! So sweet! :)
Later that day I spotted a bird house up in a tree while at the gas station. It made me very happy!
Running also happened last week. Buzz tried to help me during my pre-run stretching!
Since I think my dogs are the cutest things and I didn't want to lock them in their crate while I picked up my sister from work, I took them on a car ride. They haven't been on one in ages and had a great time!
Rusty watching the customers come and go from Dunkin Donuts.
Buzz staring intently out the window.
Rusty taking in the glorious sunlight.
Buzz continuing to stare out the window!
Rusty finally took interest in whatever Buzz was looking at so intently and joined him at the window.
When my sister got into the car she shared the sticker from her uniform with Buzz. He was looking fresh!!! :D
Later that night my boyfriend and I took on a challenge to make an elephant on rollerskates out of a limited supply of legos. Here's what we came up with!
Unfortunately he was a little top heavy so whenever we tried to wheel him around this happened:
More superb running happened. What made it superb is the fact that the run was 3.25 miles!! That's over the distance of a 5k which was my summer running goal!! It's not officially completed yet because I had to stop twice, but I've made great progress since day one! We saw some cool clouds while out.
During a light rainstorm I got to sit and read a book in the living room in the company of these two:
Another exciting event from last week was judging auditions for the play "A Few Good Men"! I've never sat in on auditions before, and it was quite exciting!
Here's the audition space. It occurred while the black box theater was in mid-switch. Now the seats are going to form a U-Shape around the stage. Pretty cool!
And those days gradually shifted into the present! I enjoyed my week away from technology and hope to continue the habit every so often so I can reconnect with the real world and get more done.
Among the activities I have going on this week are a few special ones: tanning at a lake (I've never had success tanning and really hope trying to do so doesn't give me skin cancer), eating at a sushi restaurant, and prepping for the next camping trip!
