I have deemed the first whole week of college a success! This afternoon I feel particularly college-y because it's now past noon and I'm still in my pajamas and eating a bowl of half cooked ramen noodles. I'm hungry enough though that the crunch doesn't really bother me...
On my first whole day back I started off by going to the gym. Everyone back on campus was kind of in limbo that Sunday because there wasn't really anything to do! I started a couch to 10k program. I made the plan more realistic by downloading an app that reminds me to exercise and practice for it! My goal is to run a 10k in September, and thankfully I have a lot of time to get in shape!
Snow-covered campus is very beautiful.
I also got Mr. Fox set up in the bathroom. At the moment he is sporting Pink Sea Salt Himalayan soap.
At 8pm Ryan and I had an online movie date. We watched the last Harry Potter film. It was very emotional because it's an emotional movie and because campus internet connection is sketchy it kept pausing during the dramatic parts!
I joined my first professional campus organization this week! It was really great to meet like-minded people. I also received a free t-shirt which is nice! This meeting we made Valentine's cards to send overseas. I personally am getting really excited for Valentine's day!
I also started taking advantage of our cafe's salad bar. It's a wonderful place to cheap salad greens and grilled chicken! My favorite toppings so far are chicken, chick peas, black beans, shredded carrots, and cucumbers topped with Caesar salad dressing.
In addition to all the healthy salads I'll have in this post I've also been eating lots of Hint of Lime tortilla chips, chocolate, and other unhealthy things. However I usually prefer to just photography my healthy eats (if you even consider all that dressing to still be healthy lol)!
I also received a large, oddly light package in the mail! Guess what was inside it???
Jellyroll pens!! I laughed a lot when I opened it because they literally could have put them in one of those small yellow envelopes and mailed them! I am very in love with the smooth ink of these pens!
My suitemates and I played a cute game called Say Anything. There are a bunch of cards with random questions. It kind of reminded me of a clean Cards Against Humanity in which you actually make up the answers instead of choosing one!
While making popcorn I saw this poster by our microwave. That black thing in the bowl is actually a photo of failed macaroni and cheese which set of the fire alarm last semester at 2am!!
So far our fish have managed to stay alive! We even got another one! My roommate's friend was at a fish store and the big fish was the only one of his kind left in the tank so she bought him out of pity. I really want to get a plant to put in their tank!
My roommate also gave me this awesome-sauce poster as a late Christmas present! She doesn't know much about Doctor Who but said she recognized my fridge in the design. XP
I keep making it to the gym despite the cold. It's a struggle to be out and about some days but I feel so much better after jogging!
More sa-lad with a side of fruit. The cafeteria really surprised me by serving grapefruit a few days ago! I personally never really got into grapefruit because I think it's sour, but it was a nice switch-up from just eating grapes everyday.
Our school boasted about a Tedx and my friends and I went all excited. Turns out it wasn't really a Tedx though. The school is privately licensed by Tedx to host talk viewings on a large screen and then have small group discussions about them.
Last semester they brought real speakers in so I hope they do it again sometime this semester! The theme of the talks was adulthood and mildly thought provoking.
I started a new mini photo series using my David Tennant pop culture doll. I'm going to put him in a new scenario everyday.
I had my first real occupational therapy class this week and I can already tell I'm in the right place for a future career! It's the class I'm most excited for this coming semester. Plus the view out the window is great! The photo doesn't do it justice.
There was also an amazing sunset a couple nights back.
Yesterday I went to a poster sale to get another image for my wall. The Doctor Who one looks great but the wall was still vastly empty. I choose a colorful one to hang along side it!
Last night I spent most of my time playing Sims 4 and building the ultimate house and awkward family. It was quite pleasant! Afterwards I hung out with friends and watched terrible romantic comedy movies. They were pretty awful, but made the night good, if that makes any sense?
It was a wonderful first week back at school!
