Today was a gorgeous day! We started it off by giving my dad the presents we bought him: nerf guns and darts! The morning started off with a war!!
All was going well until I misfired and hit my mom in the face! Then the dart bounced into her coffee. Oops. Then she borrowed dad's nerf gun and went after me!! Quality family time :)
Closer to lunch time we hit the road to visit Yellowstone State park. We parked blankets and picnic supplies. I also took my camera because the day was beautiful. Picture explosion ahead!
^It's a barn with gothic windows! So cool!
When we got to Yellowstone we bought park stickers for both of our vehicles. Then we went searching for the perfect picnic spot! Being Father's Day it was a little busy, but we found solace in the pet area. We dined on honey chicken wings, chips, fruit, and pudding cups (my dad's personal favorite)!
After lunch I took more pictures because the lakeside was stunning.
After the picnic we went to the ice cream shack for a treat! I got rainbow sherbert!
When we got home I read a book until my dad finished his outdoor swing project, then I observed him make dinner. Now I know the basics for working the grill, judging burger "doneness" and toasting buns!
We ate dinner outside. There's something peaceful about doing so!
Even in the evening the sky was super beautiful, as were the flowers growing by the picnic table!
To finish the evening off, my boyfriend stopped by for a campfire. I built the fire all on my own using the log cabin method my dad showed me! I super pleased!
Because my dogs seemed really cute last night begging while we ate smores, I roasted a marshmallow for them to share! Buzz and Rusty were happy puppies!
Hi my name is Emilee and these are my adventures as a young adult living in Milwaukee. Here I will share my experiences as I navigate through college. Thanks for stopping by!
