There was no snow in December for Christmas.
There is snow now.
Shoveling, slipping, freezing. Oh Wisconsin winters how I've missed you. While I was driving a couple days ago, coaxing my car along a road covered in compacted snow, I thought how strange it would be to switch perspectives for a few seconds with someone from a no-snow climate.
Every once in awhile I think it would be nice to live somewhere it wasn't cold and wet and snowy in the winter, but, honestly, I think I would miss it!
So, what's been keeping me so busy on my winter break? Well, I made this really cool sandwich!
I also bought a digital corgi and named him Rupert. He compares nothing to the real one I hope to own someday, but he's a start!
I'll admit I'm ready to go back to college. Being out of school for an entire month sounds really awesome, but unless you have plenty of things you actually have to do it can get a bit boring. I love having a schedule to follow because it keeps me productive!
I have done a few things besides reading Harry Potter and watching Raising Hope on Netflix.
I saw a high school friend and we tried making homemade macaroni and cheese. Partway through cooking though we realized only half the ingredients had measurements and had to guess the rest!
It turned out pretty good despite entirely winging the cheese sauce!
We also found a bag of brownie mix with very specific instructions. If you mix the batter 51 times you will ruin it and have the start over. (Like my band-aid sticker? It was the only flat one I could find!)
After cooking we played ping pong and then I introduced her to Raising Hope. She liked it so much we made it all the way through season 1 in one evening!
In the morning I managed to use an entire bag of pancake mix and only make four pancakes! Check out these giant babies!
Her cute puppy wanted some too but we resisted!
Later in the day Ryan and I drove out into the country and climbed a giant hill. We wanted to go sledding originally but there was too much brush sticking out of the snow. The view was still nice though!
We also watched Galaxy Quest in memory of Alan Rickman. He's a wonderful actor and I'm sad to hear of his passing.
Hi my name is Emilee and these are my adventures as a young adult living in Milwaukee. Here I will share my experiences as I navigate through college. Thanks for stopping by!
