Today I rested from running because due to improper technique, I had really painful shin splints! When it took nearly a minute to limp down the stairs I knew I needed a rest day! Thankfully Ryan was also feeling worn out from a workout he did the night before, so we agreed to continue a later day.
Resting feet with awesome socks! :D
I was going to the studio again today with my mom, but in the time before we left I continued reading The Happiness Project. I've been brainstorming my own project and hope to define my goals in the super near future.
Once at the studio I resumed making cupcake toppers. The pile was slowly growing, but was still about 20 caps away when I left to go have lunch with my dad. He was a little late due to a salesperson popping into his door right before he planned to leave, so I practiced Italian on Duolingo while waiting. I also noticed a time capsule in the wall next to my chair.
This inspired me to make my own time capsule! I'll post more about it in the future. If I ever say what's inside of it on this blog I'll have to promise myself to never look at the post until the desired open date.
For lunch I had Calypso chicken pizza with fruit and a cookie dough bar. It was super delish! The pizza was super and something I'd never heard of before! I didn't take a picture because my dad doesn't like food photos, but I'm going to try to recreate it sometime in the next couple weeks!
After lunch I went back to making cupcake toppers. Oy vey was it taking forever! But I finally finished and here's what the looked like all lined up:
I briefly went to work (I only have a 2 hour shift on Wednesdays) then met up with Ryan to try to build a campfire! It was much more successful than the last fire we built, during which we used up two newspapers and a can of cooking spray O.o
I bought a bag of marshmallows in the shape of ice cream cones. The flavors were strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla. Eating them made Ryan crave neapolitan ice cream, so we asked my mom to watch the fire so we could go buy some. When we came back the rest of my family had joined the fire area and insisted on eating ice cream too!
Date night turned into family night. :)
My parents shared all sorts of stories with Ryan from my childhood, some of which were not so lovely. Thanks guys!! The evening was filled with pleasant chat and stories. Eventually the fire died down and everyone went their separate ways for bed.
Hi my name is Emilee and these are my adventures as a young adult living in Milwaukee. Here I will share my experiences as I navigate through college. Thanks for stopping by!
