Today was our last day at Devil's Lake! We decided to make an epic hiking trip up the East Bluff trail and then around East Bluff. First, we started the day off with some eggs.
These looked yummy, but unfortunately we did not bring any cooking spray with us. We hoped the grease from the sausages we cooked in the skillet before the eggs would be enough to grease it, but unfortunately it wasn't! The poor eggs were so burned we just ate the sausage out of the scramble. Lesson learned though!!
The trail was very scenic. It was also paved for most of the way, but for some reason that didn't make it any easier!
There were lots of stone stairs, natural and unnatural.
The view got better and better as we made our way up the bluffs. The vast number of trees blocking our view of the lake encouraged us to keep climbing! Ryan was way more bold about venturing out onto the rocks than I was! Maybe next time I'll be more brave!
And then we made it to the top!!
The view was utterly amazing!!!!!!!
A kind fellow hikers volunteered to take our picture so we could memorialize the climb! Thank you kind stranger, now we can remember this moment in time forever!
After we hiked back down the hill it was time for us to leave Devil's Lake. Unfortunately I had to go to work that evening, cutting our trip a bit short. Back to the real world for us!
We'll definitely go back to Devil's Lake though. There's so much to do and so much to see! We didn't even do a quarter of the available activities! So, farewell...until we meet again! :)
