They day after Christmas my family and I made the long drive up north to visit family on my mom's side. We left the house by 7 am and my sister and I got the lovely privilege of sitting in the backseat with the dogs! Buzz was so excited he whined the first hour of the drive!
Then they napped the rest of the way!
We got to see the sunrise on our way up :)
When we got up there we had a late munchy lunch and caught up with my grandparents. My mom brought a long a card making craft project so we worked on those for awhile.
Buzz: "Please let me sit on you!"
I think the marks left behind from my painting look just as cool as some of the cards!
I showed my grandma all my college photos and in exchange she showed me scrapbooks of my mom's childhood! My mom's favorite pair of shoes in the late 70s were bright white go-go boots!
In the evening my aunt and uncle came to visit with their dogs. We had quite a full house! My grandparents have two dogs, we brought our two, and my aunt and uncle brought three of their five! Doggie palooza! We all played with animals and caught up while preparing dinner. Afterwards we had our mini gift exchange.
Here's all 7 of the dogs! I think they're all fairly cute. Isabel and Regis are a jack russel and shih tzu cross and both turned out very spunky, especially Regis!
The following morning we drove over the border to Michigan to go shopping. We hit up Walmart and Goodwill before heading for lunch. I got a new pair of snow boots to bring back to college in case I have to walk through the snow to get to classes. While we didn't have a white Christmas, winter weather is on the way!
We went to our favorite Chinese restaurant when we were done. In addition to the typical Chinese buffet selection they also serve sushi!
There's Buzz being a lump on the kitchen floor! X)
And posting by the window. He loves watching the activity at the bird feeder right outside.
While looking for dressing to put on our dinner salad we found this gem at the back of the fridge. It's been awhile....
Our big family dinner the night before we left. More homemade pasta, salad, and garlic bread. Yum!
We left early the following morning. There was a winter storm advisory at 3 pm and we wanted to make sure we were home before that got too extreme. It decided to start at 9 am though so the ride back was very tense. I tried to focus on catching snow flakes on Animal Crossing: New Leaf to get my mind off the weather and my dad got us home in one piece!
All caught up on posting now, just in time for New Year's! Our plans aren't set in stone but I have a few ideas in my mind how to make the night fun!
Hi my name is Emilee and these are my adventures as a young adult living in Milwaukee. Here I will share my experiences as I navigate through college. Thanks for stopping by!
